Report and player ratings from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after Spurs move up to second in the Premier League table.

Tottenham maintained their unbeaten start to the season and moved up to second in the Premier League with victory over London rivals Fulham.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg handed the hosts a deserved first-half lead, with Harry Kane doubling their advantage before a late Aleksandar Mitrovic goal had Spurs sweating late on.

Mitrovic then saw another deflected effort loop its way towards goal, forcing Hugo Lloris to make a fine save and ultimately earn Spurs a hard-fought three points, having cruised the opening 80 minutes.

Spurs will be displaced in second if Manchester City win at Aston Villa later on Saturday, while Fulham are 10th after losing their second game of the season.

Spurs almost led after 11 minutes, but Son Heung-min’s goal was chalked off despite his cross evading everyone.

Harry Kane was in an offside position when attempting to head the ball and therefore impacting Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

Son then hit the bar, but Spurs were eventually rewarded for their relentless start, with Hojbjerg scoring his second of the season after playing a one-two with Richarlison and slotting a low effort beyond Leno’s reach.

After the break, Spurs looked the more likely to double their advantage, with Ryan Sessegnon and Son both seeing attempts saved by Leno.

Then on came Willian, the ex-Arsenal and Chelsea winger signed by Fulham on deadline day.

But neither he nor fellow new signing Daniel James were able to make a telling impact.
